I'm a big fan of soft-serve ice cream.

Especially if it's the salted caramel kind. In a sugar cone.

Every so often I will enjoy a pint of frozen goodness after a tough resistance training workout.

Problem is, dairy makes me feel downright awful.

So, over my adult life I've messed around with different meal-replacement shake recipes in an attempt to achieve an ice-cream-like consistency.

Here's my latest chocolatey iteration.

On an unrelated note, if tomatoes are fruit does that mean ketchup is a smoothie?

Dairy-Free Creamy Chocolate Post-Workout Smoothie

While your friends are posting political rants on FaceTube, you can try this delicious smoothie.

INGREDIENTS:

🍦1 frozen banana, peeled and sliced

🍦2 cups fresh spinach

🍦5-10 fresh mint leaves

🍦1 scoop chocolate pea protein powder

🍦a pinch of cinnamon

🍦1/2 lemon (squeeze the juice)

🍦1 cup hot chamomile tea

🍦3 cups ice

DIRECTIONS:

Grab your heavy-duty blender.

Add the frozen banana slices, spinach, mint leaves, protein powder, cinnamon, and ice.

Now squeeze some fresh lemon juice into the mix.

Be sure to strain the seeds.

Finally add the hot tea.

Why hot tea you ask?

It helps blend this tasty concoction with less liquid, resulting in a thicker consistency.

Kind of like soft-serve ice cream.

About 300 calories.
