Throughout the course of your life, you've likely accomplished many great things.

The fastest path to where you want to go begins with YOU.

All too often men and women, over 40 years, think the magic lies in a system or a tactic or tool.

I'd argue that you need proven systems; however, the truth is that YOU are the engine that will propel you from where you are to where you want to be.

In fact, I’d go as far as to say that the best investment of your resources is an investment in yourself.

Compared to the investment you could make in a stock or a bond, a new sports car, a larger house…

…an investment back into yourself will almost always yield a better return.

See, while an automobile will depreciate over time and you’d be fortunate to average a 10% annual return on an investment in stocks, an investment in yourself will often yield far more.

If you invest in becoming the best version of yourself with more confidence, more energy, more strength with athletic levels of bodyfat... something special happens.

You’ll likely be far more valuable to the folks you serve.

If you invest in getting lean and strong, you’re almost certainly assured an annual ROI of more than 10%.

If you invest in becoming more productive (thanks to your newfound energy and strength), well, you've just made your time more valuable.

And when you accomplish more in less time, the rewards are significant. Namely you'll gain more time freedom to do what you want.

But when you invest in building your ideal body and life, the payoff is arguably beyond measure.

The truth is this: You’re the first domino in your own world.

Everything begins with you.

Want a better business? It starts with you.

Want a happier home? It starts with you.

The better you develop yourself, the greater impact you can have.

So if you want to impact many and to do great things, start with the person in the mirror.

It’s the first step toward the vision you want to create and the goals you want to achieve.

With that in mind, there are four things you have to work towards in order to get results.

Unfortunately, there is no quick fix.

Oftentimes, you spend too much time looking for the "fast" secret when, in reality, it's the regular day-in-and-day-out work that gets you closer to your goals.

Imagine building a house, on bedrock, with four sturdy walls.

Strong storms can huff and puff, yet the house remains immovable.

You might say the "secret to success" comes down to four things, and they all happen to begin with the letter "C."

1. Consistency

I've beaten this into the ground, but I feel it's the number-one thing for lasting results.

People over the age of 40 often look for the quick fix; they jump around from this detox to that kick-start.

They exercise consistently for three weeks, and then fall off track for two.

They meal prep for a couple of weeks, and then they get tired of cooking and revert back to eating fast food.

In fitness and in life, the tortoise will always win the race.

Focus on slow, steady, consistent efforts to win every day.

2. Coaching

When your car needs a tune-up, you call an expert mechanic.

When you're sick, you see a doctor with decades of specialization.

When you need to get your taxes done, hire a skilled accountant.

But why do you want these professionals on your team?

You invest in specialists because your strength is not in that particular area.

Of course you may be smart enough to do it yourself; however, you're willing to invest money to save time.

You see, time is your greatest asset.
